Burial The headstone the grave reads ' In ever loving memory of Daniel Ward Bates who passed away May 22nd 1946 aged 62,Abide with me, also in loving memory of his wife Lily Elizabeth Bates who passed away April 2nd 1953 aged 71 years. Peace perfect peace.' The burial entry record reads...Daniel Ward Bates of Little Chesterton buried 25th May 1946 aged 62. Should you come to Chesterton to look at the grave at any time there is a book of monumental inscription and a plan of the churchyard in the church.
